St Joseph’s Hospital hosts their 7th Cardiac MRI course for Radiographers

Date Posted: 10th October 2023

St Joseph’s Hospital are pleased to share that they have recently hosted their 7th Cardiac MRI course for Radiographers. The course first began in 2021 and has been a running success since, with attendees travelling from Wales, England, Scotland, and the Republic of Ireland.

The two-day course compacts a wealth of knowledge and experience to deliver an insightful and practical training course for radiographers.

During the first day, hosted at Parkway Hotel & Spa, faculty members deliver didactive scientific lectures on all components of CMR. On the second day, hands-on training is given seeing the delegates rotating through four separate CMR stations. St Joseph’s Hospital hosts a state-of-the-art MRI scanner, the MAGNETOM Sola 1.5T MRI from Siemens Healthineers, which is used throughout the second day of training.

Mr Benny Lawton, executive cardiac MRI radiographer at St Joseph’s Hospital, who holds over 14 years of cardiac MRI experience organises the course and carefully takes the time to work on the course content with the faculty members.

The latest course took place on 30th September and 1st October 2023. It was a great success with delegates commenting, “Will recommend course to colleagues & friends. Interesting, relevant, and engaging” and “Excellent courses, very informative, interesting, and enjoyable”.

This course was sponsored by GE pharmaceuticals, Bayer, Probo Medical, and Circle Cardiovascular Imaging, who we thank for their support in hosting a fantastic educational course for Radiographers.

Mr Lawton is delighted to share the news of the next course running on 6th and 7th March 2024, with delegates already securing their place. Find out more about the course content, speakers, or express your interest in attending by clicking here
