St Joseph’s continues their support for Cerebral Palsy Cymru

Date Posted: 17th January 2023

St Joseph’s Hospital are thrilled to announce their continuous support for Cerebral Palsy Cymru’s specialist early intervention service ‘Better Start, Better Future’, for babies who have or at risk of cerebral palsy. St Joseph’s support means that 18 additional babies will be able to receive a vital early intervention therapy session this year.

St Joseph’s Hospital’s support is needed more than ever for Cerebral Palsy Cymru as there has been a surge in referrals by 33%, meaning the demand for these services are increasing.

Over the past few years St Joseph’s Hospital and Cerebral Palsy Cymru’s relationship has gone from strength to strength. During the pandemic St Joseph’s Hospital kindly offered Cerebral Palsy Cymru to use space in the hospital to deliver face-to-face therapy sessions whilst they waited for their new children’s centre to be completed.

Recently, the staff at St Joseph’s Hospital have participated in a great number of fundraising initiatives, including sponsoring 'Cake & Tea for CP', wearing green for Cerebral Palsy Awareness Month and arranging a charity golf day. St Joseph’s Hospital have also generously shown support for Cerebral Palsy Cymru’s 'Build A Better Future' appeal by sponsoring one of the rooms in the new children’s centre in Llanishen, Cardiff.
