Sonia graduated with a first class honours degree with clinical distinction from The University of Wales College of Medicine in 2000. Prior to her physiotherapy degree Sonia graduated from the University of Warwick with a BSc in sports science. Sonia has gained extensive clinical experience in both the NHS and private sector, focusing on the assessment and rehabilitation of musculoskeletal and orthopaedic conditions.
Her special interests are chronic pain conditions and the psychological processes of pain. Sonia specialises in complex shoulder, knee joint and spine problems.
Sonia is the lead physiotherapist for the Fibromyalgia service within St Joseph’s Hospital helping to develop the programme of treatment offered to patients with long-term conditions.
Her expertise, coupled with her physiotherapy experience and her own experience as an athlete, allows Sonia to successfully understand, treat and rehabilitate sports injuries.
Sonia competed for Wales in sprint events and since retiring from competitive sport enjoys keeping herself fit through running, gym work and walking.

Sonia's spare time is spent with her husband and two young boys. As a family they love sport, walking, cooking and travelling.
