Professional bio

After qualifying as a physiotherapist from Cardiff University, Oliver worked in the Aneurin Bevan University Health Board where he completed his band 5 rotations in a range of different clinical areas including musculoskeletal outpatients, trauma and orthopaedics, neurology and respiratory. Following his band 5 rotations, he decided to specialise in musculoskeletal outpatients before leaving the NHS to join St Joseph’s Hospital.

Since specialising in musculoskeletal outpatients, Oliver has completed further training in hydrotherapy, acupuncture, Pilates, and exercise rehabilitation. To further his knowledge he has recently completed a Masters in Sport and Exercise Physiotherapy at Cardiff University.

Alongside working at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Oliver has also gained experience in a range of different high performance sporting environments including Cardiff City FC Academy and Hockey Wales.Oliver worked as a physiotherapist for Welsh Athletics for 6 years, which involve assessing and treating some of the best track and field athletes in Wales. As part of this role, he travelled and provided physiotherapy support for some of the track and field athletes at the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games. 

Oliver has achieved Silver level accreditation from the Association of Chartered Physiotherapists in Sport and Exercise Medicine, and is currently working towards his Gold level accreditation, an internationally recognised standard within Sports Physiotherapy.
