  • Newly diagnosed respiratory conditions (Asthma, Bronchiectasis, COPD)
  • Dysfunctional breathing / hyperventilation disorders
  • Patients that are respiratory compromised from Neuro-muscular conditions (Motor Neurone disease, Multiple Sclerosis, spinal injuries) 
  • Recent cardiac surgery (stents and open heart surgery)

  • Post Covid-19 rehabilitation and long covid diagnosis

Professional bio

Since graduating 16 years ago, Gemma has worked across South Wales for the NHS and has worked in all specialities of Physiotherapy at both junior and senior levels. She has been a specialist Cardio-Respiratory Physiotherapist for 8 years and brings the knowledge gained working in both acute medical wards (including intensive care and critical cardiac units) and the community to provide effective treatment and rehabilitation. 

Gemma is passionate to make every treatment session patient centred, specific and personalised and she enjoys working as part of a multi-disciplinary team to achieve the best outcomes.

Qualifications

BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy, Cardiff Medical School.

Personal Profile

Outside of work Gemma is an avid rugby fan and kept busy with two young children. They are an active family who enjoy the outdoors and walking their dog.
