Professional bio

My NHS practice is based at Cardiff and Vale NHS trust with duties including the provision of general orthopaedic trauma care at the University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff and an elective practice is based at the Cardiff & Vale Orthopaedic Centre (CAVOC) at Llandough Hospital.

I undertake private practice at St Joseph's Hospital, Spire Cardiff Hospital and Cardiff and Vale Hospitals (Nuffield Health).

Having been a consultant for more than 15 years I have gained widespread experience in the management of conditions affecting the knee, shoulder and elbow. My particular interest is in the management of soft tissue problems including sports injuries. I am regularly involved in teaching and lecturing in this field both in the United Kingdom and overseas.

My key areas of interest include arthroscopic surgery of the knee, shoulder and elbow. This includes knee ligament reconstruction, cartilage regeneration surgery including cartilage transplants in the knee. In the shoulder my key areas of interest are shoulder instability and rotator cuff repair.

I have performed over 500 knee ligament reconstructions, over 1,000 other arthroscopic knee procedures and over 1,000 arthroscopic shoulder and elbow procedures in my NHS and private practice.
