Patient Portal

You can access Patient Portal using the email address and Patient ID that St Joseph’s Hospital has on record for you. When logging in, please ensure that you enter the same email address you previously provided to the hospital, along with your Patient ID, which is typically a six to seven-digit number found in your appointment confirmation email or previous correspondence.

If you are having trouble registering for Patient Portal because your email address is not being recognised, please ensure that you are entering the exact email address you previously provided to St Joseph’s Hospital.

You can find your Patient ID on the main dashboard page at the top of the page, alternatively it  will be included in any emails/letters received from St Joseph’s Hospital regarding your appointment. Additionally, it will be included in any previous correspondence from the hospital related to your visits or care. If your still unable to locate your patient ID, please call our outpatient team on 01633 820344.

Your Patient ID is essential for registering on Patient Portal and can be found in the email sent to you about your appointment. This identification number is usually six or seven digits long. Please ensure you are entering your Patient ID correctly.

Multi-factor Authentication (MFA) is a security measure found under the Account Maintenance section of Patient Portal. This feature requires you to verify your identity using two or more forms of verification before you can access your account. By implementing MFA, your personal information and health records are protected with an extra layer of security, helping to ensure that only you can access your patient information.

To ensure optimal security and full functionality when using the Patient Portal dashboard, it is important that your device is running the latest available operating system (OS). If your device is operating with an outdated or less secure OS, you may find that access to certain features, such as the Messages section, is restricted or unavailable. Keeping your device up to date will help you take advantage of all the features provided by Patient Portal and maintain the security of your personal and health information.

If you are unable to view your appointment details within the Patient Portal, please check the dashboard (homepage), which will display your next upcoming appointment. Should you not have any future appointments scheduled, you can still access information about past or other bookings. To do this, select the Booking option from the left-hand menu, or click the Appointment tab located at the top of the page beneath your name.

If you are scheduled for more than one procedure at our hospital, please note that the Patient Portal Dashboard will only display information for your initial upcoming appointment. Details for any subsequent procedures will not appear on the dashboard until the initial appointment has taken place, however confirmation of future appointments can be viewed in ‘Messages’. This means that, even if you are due to attend multiple appointments, the Dashboard prioritises showing your next visit only. To access your messages within Patient Portal, begin by clicking on the "Your messages" tile. This will display a comprehensive list of all messages available to you through the portal.

Next, locate the letter you wish to read and select the View button positioned next to it. Upon doing so, your chosen letter will open, allowing you to review its contents in detail. Should you need a physical copy, you will also have the option to print the letter directly from this view.

Important: For security and to ensure full access to all portal features, please make certain that your device is operating with the latest version of its operating system (OS). Devices running older or less secure OS versions may encounter restrictions, potentially preventing access to the Messages section.

Patient Portal provides access to all correspondence issued

To access your financial statement within Patient Portal, begin by navigating from the homepage and selecting the "Balance" tile. Click on "View all Transactions" to see a comprehensive list of your transactions. Alternatively, you can click on "Transactions" at the top of the screen. Once there, select "Generate Statement" to produce your statement for review.

Please note: The statement generation feature is available exclusively to self-funding patients.

If your appointment is in the future:

1. Click on "Bookings" at the top of the screen.

2. Select "View booking".

3. Click the "Pay" button and follow the on-screen instructions to complete your payment.

If you have already attended your appointment:

1. From the Home screen, click on the "Balance" tile.

2. Select "View All Transactions". You will see a list of your transactions, including the invoice for your appointment.

3. Click the "Pay" button next to your invoice and follow the instructions to make your payment.
