Miss Obi is a consultant based at Aneurin Bevan University Health Board, South Wales and sees her private patients at St Joseph's Hospital in South Wales.
She trained at the Royal Free Hospital and University College School of Medicine, University College London, UK, qualifying with distinctions & merits in 2001 in her Medical degree, as well as 1st class Honours & distinctions in her Bachelor of Science Degree in Anatomy and Developmental Biology (2000).
Specialist Training in ophthalmology commenced in 2004. She gained extensive experience in further training posts for each of the subdivisions within ophthalmology in England, Wales & Scotland, gaining a vast wealth of experience in each region. During her specialist training, she passed her MRCSEd exams (Membership of the Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh). At the end of her specialist training, she passed her FRCOphth exam and became a Fellow of the Royal College of Ophthalmologist, London, in 2013. She received her Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training (CCST) in 2014.
Miss Obi has undertaken two advanced higher specialist training fellowship programs in oculoplastic, lacrimal and orbital surgery at both University of Leicester Hospitals, Leicester, Royal Berkshire Hospital, Reading and Prince Charles Eye Unit, Windsor.
Her ideal for each patient she encounters is compassionate care, clinical safety & clinical excellence tailored to the individuals' needs in order to achieve the most optimal outcome for everyone. She is an honorary lecturer in Cardiff University and is actively involved in teaching medical & nursing undergraduates and has an ongoing keen interest in clinical research.
