Professional bio
Consultant Physician and Endocrinologist at Royal Gwent Hospital, Newport since 2003 and is experienced in the investigation and management of a range of problems in Endocrinology (including diabetes mellitus) and General Medicine.
I completed my Specialist Registrar in Diabetes and Endocrinology and General Internal Medicine in Cardiff in 2003. I completed his MRCP (U.K) in 1997 and Dr Kofi Obuobie qualified from the University of Ghana Medical School in 1991.
My thesis based on vascular function in thyroid and other endocrine conditions was awarded an MD degree by Cardiff University. I have extensive experience in all aspects of diabetes management and I currently lead the Insulin Pump and young adult service.
I have a busy Endocrine Practice with 18 years of experience in the investigation and management of a wide range of Endocrine conditions.
I have published in the field of diabetes and endocrinology in leading journals such as the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism.
He was awarded the FRCP (Edin) in 2006 and FRCP (Lond) in 2007.
