After graduating from Cardiff University with a first-class honours degree in Physiotherapy, Nerissa began her career with the Cardiff and Vale University Health Board. Through comprehensive NHS rotations, she honed her clinical expertise across a wide range of specialities - including respiratory care, trauma, mental health, and acute medical rehabilitation - before progressing into a senior role within orthopaedics. In 2024, Nerissa brought her breadth of knowledge and strong interest in musculoskeletal physiotherapy to St Joseph's Hospital. Her evidence-based, patient-centred approach focuses on helping individuals reach their goals - whether in daily life or athletic competition.
Alongside her clinical role, Nerissa has worked extensively with both able-bodied and para-athletes across a variety of sports, including Muay Thai, rugby, and racket sports. Most recently, her experience at the 2025 British & Irish Para Badminton International as the Event Physiotherapist involved assessing and treating elite athletes from around the world. Nerissa's interest in sport extends beyond the clinic - she has proudly represented Wales in badminton and maintains an active lifestyle through running and CrossFit.
