Ultrasound breast

This is breast imaging using sound waves to produce images of the breast tissue. It produces a picture that looks very like radar, and is a vital part of the diagnostic process for breast problems. It is particularly useful for young patients who have very dense breast tissue, and therefore are not suitable for mammography.
