Our reception team

When you arrive at St Joseph’s you will be greeted by our reception team.  You can expect to experience a warm smile and pleasant words, coupled with courteous efficiency.

Our consultants & clinicians 

One of the key factors in St Joseph’s Hospital success lies in the consultants we attract to conduct their private practices at the hospital.  We have over 160 consultants who choose to give us the benefit of their support and they do that because they want to work in the environment that the hospital provides.

They are all eminent and vastly experienced in their chosen specialties and in each specialty we are fortunate to have leading individuals.  Your care is in the hands of the right people.

Our clinicians cover many different disciplines but they are each carefully selected and all of them play a key role in your care.

Advanced diagnosis relies upon the skill of a radiographer to capture the best images possible.  Those images must then be interpreted by specialist radiologists and St Joseph’s utilises the services of the best in the region and across the UK.

Our doctors working in our Private GP Centre and other areas are similarly skilled and fully embrace the ethos of the hospital.

Nursing excellence

The St Joseph’s nurses are a very special group of people - highly dedicated, warm and caring and with a considerable depth of experience between them.  Highly trained and continually refreshing their knowledge of the latest developments in nursing.

Led by our Director of Clinical Services, the nursing team at St Joseph’s relish working in an establishment which allows them the time to care for their patients.  They believe passionately in the traditions and disciplines of care which we always maintain.

Radiographers 

Our Centre for Advanced Diagnostics is led by a team of very experienced radiographers who combine years of experience with the training to be at the forefront of the latest advances in imaging.

Our support team

Our support team across catering and cleaning embody the same culture as the rest of our staff.  Nothing is too much trouble, and whatever you need is available on request and delivered with a ready smile and a cheery word.

Aftercare

Our care doesn’t stop when you leave hospital. We will continue to care for you until your recovery is complete.

When you're ready to go home you will be given all the information you need and if you have any concerns we are just at the end of the phone.

Your consultant will give you expert personalised information and your nursing team will take time to answer any questions you may have.

Your recovery and rehabilitation will be supported, both before and after surgery, by our team of expert physiotherapists. They will work with you, providing advice on pain management and the best exercises to follow to gain the best outcomes.

We believe that St Joseph’s should be providing an end-to-end healthcare experience, which assists your preparation for treatment, steers you through your treatment with the least possible anxiety and in your aftercare period we work with you to achieve complete recovery at the earliest point.

This is what we regard as 'bespoke' care. If you are worried or concerned about anything come back and see us, at no extra cost, subject to our terms and conditions, within 28 days.

It's important that you read the information we give you when its time to go home after your operation. If you have any questions please call us, especially if you have concerns about medication, wound care or possible rare complications such as infection, blood clots, DVT, bleeding or nausea.
