How self pay works:
You can choose your consultant or simply self-refer to the relevant specialist unit. If you do not have a GP referral we may, with your consent, contact your GP.
If it is easier to see a GP privately we offer this service.
We can provide rapid access for some specialities if you need to be seen quickly.
We carefully tailor each patient’s treatment plan and will provide you with a written quotation ahead of your treatment.
Your first contact with St Joseph’s, as a new patient, may be by telephone, email or through your GP referring you for an appointment.
If you’d like to know more about our hospital do come and see us and we will be happy to give you a guided tour. We want you to feel confident in your selection of healthcare provider.
We fully understand that by electing to choose private healthcare you have made a personal choice, which we value greatly. That is why you will find it easy to make your appointment on a day and at a time to suit you.
After your initial appointment you may need diagnostic tests, pre-admission tests, or simply a follow-up appointment. Our aim is to make all of these arrangements for your convenience. So if your consultant advises that you need further treatment or surgery our patient liaison advisor may arrange for your pre-admission tests, or additional diagnostic tests to be conducted before you leave that day.
Our commitment is to provide you with a smooth and convenient service, with the choice firmly in your hands.
We ask you to settle your bill in advance of receiving your treatment. St Joseph’s accepts all forms of payment - credit cards, cheques (which must be cleared before your treatment) and cash.
If you are covered by private medical insurance we will obtain the pre-authorisation required before your treatment. The hospital is approved by all of the major medical insurers operating in the UK market.
