I am an experienced, skilled and driven member of the clinical physiotherapy team. After completing the highly challenging accelerated physiotherapy course at Cardiff University in 2008, I quickly went on to obtain a post within Aneurin Bevan University Health Board where I spent over 6 years completing rotations in all core aspects of physiotherapy, specialising in musculoskeletal outpatients in recent years.
As an extremely proactive individual in my recent NHS role I was heavily involved in the development and implementation of the fractured neck of femur pathway, a national initiative aimed at improving the care pathway for this patient group. I also worked closely with the multidisciplinary team to develop a pathway for patients undergoing breast surgery, ensuring care was delivered at a consistent high level throughout the health board.
Alongside my full time post I am lead physiotherapist for the premiership rugby team Crosskeys RFC. I saw them through their most successful season in 2013 and am valued by players and management alike. The association has also allowed me to establish important links with local orthopaedic consultants and develop a special interest in the diagnosis, treatment and management of sports injuries and tendon pain.
As a keen sportswoman I have represented my country in both badminton and swimming, however I now choose to combine my love for sport with charity and over recent years have dedicated my efforts to raise funds for the Cardiac Myopathy Association. In 2013 I cycled from Leicester to Cardiff raising over £7,000.
As a new member of the St Joseph’s physiotherapy team I am excited and dedicated in delivering physiotherapy care to the highest standard, maximising clinical excellence for all patients.
