At The Bridge, we understand that the time after an accident, injury or surgery can be painful and debilitating, yet rehabilitation during this period is vitally important to achieve optimum recovery results.
For some people, the focus, time and motivation to complete the necessary rehabilitation is not always easy and the multi-disciplinary team at The Bridge are here to look after you and maximise the potential recovery for physical and mental wellbeing and a return to normal living activities.
We aim to maximise function following accident, injury or surgery. Our team of highly skilled physiotherapists offer expertise and state-of-the-art equipment to promote an accelerated recovery.
A personal treatment plan will be produced that suits your needs and will incorporate hydrotherapy, massage and use of the Alter G anti-gravity treadmill which speeds up rehabilitation from illness, injury or surgery by getting you moving a lot sooner in a pain free environment.
Of comfort is our unique position of being able to offer the support of the hospital itself and we can provide imaging (x-ray, fluoroscopy, MRI and CT), pathology, pharmacy, psychotherapy, dietician advice and access to over 160 consultants.
The unit is covered by our resident doctor 24 hours a day, 7 days a week should any medical problems arise during your stay.
The Bridge can offer support following a stay in hospital if you feel you need a little more care before going home.
Our GPs provide an individualised, comprehensive, co-ordinated approach to your care. Our doctors work closely with other health professionals to ensure you achieve your goals.
A holistic assessment by one of our experienced GPs, a member of our nursing team, pharmacist and physiotherapist will enable us to provide a report and recommendations on how to maximise the benefit from your stay.
Our Occupational Therapist can provide advice to improve function to ensure a safe transition home.
The Bridge can offer care and support on a short-term basis to give a carer or family members an opportunity to take a break to recharge their batteries.
We understand that if you are a carer finding the right care for your loved one whilst you take a break is vitally important.
Our care is tailored to meet the needs of each individual and not only do we provide a safe and comfortable environment but also the means to optimise your health and wellbeing potential.
Our multi-disciplinary team includes GPs, a Senior Nursing Sister with a team of Health Care Assistants, Physiotherapists, Rehabilitation Technicians, Dieticians, Occupational Therapists, Pharmacist and Counsellors. We are, of course, supported by a team of consultants across a wide number of specialties.
Our beautifully furnished rooms have en-suite facilities, television, complimentary wifi and ‘full profile’ beds.
The rooms are situated on the ground floor and we have one double room to enable us to care for couples.
As well as en-suite facilities, we have large bathrooms fitted with accessible baths.
Meals are prepared by our Chef and his team and can be served in your room or in the communal relaxation and dining area, should you wish to have company.
We have a second relaxation area which is a comfortable environment to watch television, read a complimentary newspaper or have a cup of tea with visitors.
We can arrange a car to collect you from home and return you at the end of your stay, and there is ample parking for your visitors who are welcome to visit between the hours of 10am and 10pm, whilst avoiding our relaxation time between 2pm and 3pm.
We can also arrange for a hairdresser or beauty therapist to visit you.
